Glass Frog

Glass Frog

Hey there! Feast your eyes on those mesmerizing orbs. And that translucent, lime-green skin with those dazzling white accents. Isn’t this glass frog simply breathtaking?

Believe it or not, I’ve never laid eyes on a living one. But behold, I’ve stumbled upon a genuine glass frog—more precisely, a uranium glass frog.

Now, as a crafted art piece, it might lack some of the organic details of a living frog, but as an artistic creation, I’m absolutely enchanted by it.

Why, you might wonder?

Well, perhaps it’s a twinge of remorse for all the mischief I caused those poor frogs in my youth. Sadly, there’s not a frog to be found in those spots today.

Or maybe it’s because I now dwell in the subtropics where reptiles reign as the dominant predators, with reptilian life flourishing everywhere.

But most certainly, it’s because uranium glass is not only exquisitely fluorescent but also remarkably rare. And this petite uranium glass frog looks utterly stunning in both natural and ultraviolet light.

This little frog has found its place, standing guard over my mineral collection and, naturally, nestled within my heart.
