Home Grown Pineapple

-Home grown pineapple.
Hey there!
Guess what? It’s been a whole year since we landed in Florida, and guess what time it is? Harvest time! Our first pineapple is ripe for the picking. Yep, it takes a whole year to grow this beauty.
A quick twist and voila! The fruit is free from the plant, making room for a new transplant and next year’s pineapple dreams.
Now, let’s talk taste. This pineapple is a whole different experience. It’s low acid, boasts a mild pineapple flavor with hints of tropical fruits, and say goodbye to that fibrous texture. It’s more like indulging in a high-quality mango. Almost peach-like, if you can believe it.
You know the drill—just like homegrown tomatoes, homegrown pineapples are on a whole other level compared to the store-bought ones.
But here’s the kicker: unlike the struggle to grow tomatoes in the scorching south Florida heat, battling drought, and fending off every tomato disease and pest known to humankind, pineapples thrive without needing any care at all.
Give it a little time, and I’ll have my very own pineapple patch. They’re just so darn easy to grow.
Sending you tropical vibes and pineapple dreams, D 🌴🌊
