Honda CX Update

Honda CX Update

Let me spill the beans about this Honda I stumbled upon — it was like finding a unicorn in the biking world.

Seriously, it was in mint condition. All those rubber stops and plugs? Soft and fresh, just like they rolled off the factory floor. Still had those snazzy stick-on decals from Honda, dishing out break-in procedures and warranties. The tool kit? Untouched. And don’t even get me started on the rider’s manual—it was practically doing the cha-cha with the tool kit. Sure, a couple of scratches on the tank from some forgetful someone, but otherwise, spotless.

Now, here’s the kicker—despite all that showroom glamour, this bike has been throwing me surprise parties left and right.

  • Developed a water pump seal weep turned gusher.
  • The timing advance on the left cylinder decided to take an unexpected break.
  • The brake disks? Wore unevenly at a speed that would make your head spin.
  • Horn decided to ghost me.
  • Clear coat covering all that shiny chrome? Peeling off like a bad sunburn.

And then, the exhaust system, which seemed to be aging like a fine wine, decided to throw a rust-through party. Not exactly a minor hiccup.

It’s like I’m witnessing a bike aging in some kind of time warp.

My other machines, though gracefully aging, weren’t ridden much. I reckon they were fired up every so often, keeping them in tip-top shape. But this Honda, oh boy! It must have had its fair share of adventures before it took a long nap. And now, as I start riding it again, it’s unraveling like a mystery novel.

Sending you sparkly vibes and biking adventures, D 🌴🌊
