-Kowloon City, a human hive?

Hey there!

Humans just love geeking out over the incredible efficiency of honeybee colonies. Seriously, those little guys manage to house, breed, feed, care, clean, defend, and keep their bee-party going strong for millions of years. Impressive, right?

Now, picture this: if humans got to design their own hive, what would it look like?

Well, here’s a wild thought—the Walled City of Kowloon. It’s like a bee hive but for people.

Check out these curious similarities:

• High population density—check.
• Self-organized tasks—yep, got that too.
• Making the most of local resources—absolutely.
• All trash and debris dropped to the bottom—sounds familiar.
• Newer structures built upon existing ones—oh, yes.
• Are those travel stains? Well, that’s interesting.
• Residents navigating by smell rather than sight—talk about a unique twist.

There might be more parallels, but I’ll let you have your a-ha moment on those.

Now, I’d like to imagine our human hive as a garden of Eden, but considering the mess we’ve made of our environment, Kowloon might be a more realistic approximation. In this hive game, bees and ants might just be the MVPs. 🙂
