Hey there! Take a peek at these lightning sprites captured by Frankie Lucena above Matthew. Do they resemble angels brandishing their swords? An intriguing omen, wouldn’t you say?

So, Hurricane Matthew made quite an entrance, didn’t it? It swept in and out of the Treasure Coast, leaving us with tales to share and, thankfully, no major bruises.

Our cherished backyard garden — affectionately dubbed “the farm” — didn’t fare so well. But in the grand scheme of things, that’s a small price compared to the:

140mph winds
7’ sea surge
10" of rain
and the embedded tornadoes all the chaos we braced for. Somehow, that devastation pirouetted just a dozen miles away, keeping us safely offshore.

Considering the havoc Hurricane Matthew wreaked before and after passing the Treasure Coast, we’ve actually come out of it quite well. Grateful, to say the least, we were in a sheltered place.

Now, it’s time to extend a helping hand to those who weren’t as fortunate.
