Kumquats

-Kumquats ripe for the picking.
Hello, fellow fruit aficionados! 🍊
Exciting news! Despite Hurricane Matthew’s fury, which wreaked havoc on nearly all our fruit trees, leaving them snapped, shredded, or uprooted, there’s a bright spot amidst the chaos—the resilient Kumquat tree stood tall, its leaves and fruits untouched.
And now, the real enchantment begins—the Kumquats are ripening! It’s like a burst of sunshine to pluck a ripe one and enjoy its juicy goodness right on the spot. Pure delight!
For those unfamiliar, the Kumquat is a charming, thumb-sized, oval citrus fruit that you can devour whole. Imagine this: with the first bite, a zesty, lemony explosion fills your mouth. But wait, there’s more—the sweet surprise of the skin as you chew. The longer you savor it, the sweeter it becomes. What a delightful fruit!
These little treasures ripen during the winter months, and let me tell you, back in the frosty north, I used to buy and relish them. Now, having Kumquats in my backyard is a delightful perk of living in the subtropics. It’s like nature’s own candy store!
Stay fruity and fabulous! 🌿
