Miners Rescued

-Oh, what a string of miracles!

• Not only did they survive the collapse,
• They were found,
• The drills reached them swiftly and with minimal issues,
• Everyone was safely extracted.

Having delved into designing mines and even ventured inside them, I’ve witnessed rock spalls, roof falls, and rock bursts. I’ve descended to the 4800-foot level, traveled a mile away in a man car, and descended on an incline to the 6200-foot level.

Yet, what unfolded in that collapsed mine surpasses anything I’ve ever witnessed. I’m utterly amazed by tonight’s feats.

My admiration extends to the remarkable rescue team, particularly Manuel Gonzalez, a mining rescue expert who was the first down the borehole and the last to leave. They truly possess the right qualities.
