Paradise Revisited

Paradise Revisited

Imagine trading this for something else:

Paradise

Voila! It’s practically paradise, especially if you’re into growing things.

So, after delving into Julia Morton’s book about all the fantastic plants I could nurture here, and realizing the limited agricultural potential back at home, it was time for a visit to our long-held undeveloped land.

From the road, not too shabby. Might there even be a fruit tree growing there already? But, truth be told, it seems like it’s going to take a lot of effort and time before we see exotic fruit orchards blossoming.

Yep, it’s a grower’s paradise! Nature has already painted a vivid picture.

After holding onto the land for over a decade, I sure wish I’d started planting trees sooner.

My buddy Bob once joked that it seems like all we needed was “40 acres and a mule” to retire on. I chuckled back then, thinking it was more my wife’s dream. But you know what? I might be getting converted to her way of thinking.

I’m a bit shy of 40 acres, and yes, I’ve been reminded of a few other “shortcomings” along the way. But seriously, how much does a mule cost, anyway? 🙂
